Canvasback on Kittamaqundi
A male canvasback showed up on Lake Kittamaqundi during the rainy weekend. The snapshot above shows him still here today. Following photos were taken yesterday. Look for a large black and white duck with dark red head (and red eyes!) and a large bill shaped differently from other ducks. A male canvasback has visited the lake in previous winters -- the same one or different individuals? -- and he might visit the other local lakes while he is here.
