Common Yellowthroat; Global Big Day and May Count

Yesterday, May 14, was the Global Big Day for bird watching and counting organized by Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The date coincided with Howard County Bird Club's May Count this year, so local observations submitted to eBird served both events. I covered Lake Kittamaqundi again, and although my area was lacking in warblers of the deep woods found by other participants in the county, a reliable common yellowthroat showed up. He even granted me a photo opportunity this time. The female was present also, but she eluded the camera lens.

A video of the yellowthroat singing, with noise from Route 29, plus more photos from my counting are the latest additions on My Flickr Photostream in my blog list.
