Centennial Lake Scenes with Ice Rescue Training

I stopped at Centennial Lake on Wednesday to see what migratory waterfowl might be around and found Howard County Fire and Rescue conducting ice rescue training.

One female bufflehead was in the open water at the west end of the lake.

Ever-present Canada geese leave an abundant mess, which is an inconvenience to ice rescue crew members and photographers alike -- but we still like to photograph the geese.
