And more paddlers: Ducklings on Lake Kittamaqundi at last.

 
When was the last time anyone saw ducklings on our lake? I think it's been a couple of years, thanks to the presence of at least one snapping turtle and maybe the largemouth bass. I once heard from a park ranger that when ducks figure out that snappers are lurking in a body of water, they'll avoid having young there. Goslings, on the other hand, are safe. By the time they first enter the water, they're too big for a snapping turtle to pull down easily. (I took these photos yesterday evening.)
